Investing ethically
Invest ethically - achieve impact.
We base our actions on ethical guidelines. This applies to our behaviour towards customers and partner companies as well as our employees. Transparent cost structures and a clear, impact-orientated approach to sustainability are the result of this basic attitude. The result is an investment structure that matches your goals - and has an impact.
Our values
Sustainability as a foundation
Sustainability means long-term viability in terms of the development of a successful economy, an inclusive society and the physical foundations of life on earth. Sustainability in this sense means future viability. A securities investment can (and should) make valuable contributions to the sustainability of our economic activity.
We take seven key areas into account:
We exclude sectors and companies that do not fit in with our values - e.g. weapons, tobacco or the oil industry.
We favour companies that operate in an environmentally friendly manner, save energy and reduce emissions.
We pay attention to fair working conditions, human rights, avoidance of child labour and responsible supply chains.
Good corporate governance is important to us: transparent structures, independent supervision, fair remuneration.
We only invest in companies with a solid balance sheet, stable earnings and a sustainable business model.
We take momentum into account: companies that are developing positively are favoured.
We select companies that contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and have a global impact.
Responsible investing does not end with the purchase decision. Our partners at the ethos Foundation specialise in shareholder dialogue (engagement) and conduct it on our behalf - we were the first independent asset manager in Switzerland to enter into a partnership with ethos in the area of engagement.
"Engagement is a necessary tool for long-term investors who are guided by the concept of sustainable development. It aims to encourage companies to improve their environmental, social and governance practices."
